The Kenan Center in Lockport is embarking on an ambitious 2024/2025 season with six shows. Executive Director Bill Patti has assembled a team of talented creatives, including Jen Mysliwy (Performer: Artpark, BPO, Vermont Stage Company, TheatreWorks USA) and Kevin Leary (Kragtar!, Death of a Streetcar Named Virginia Woolf), to helm the artistic direction of the new Taylor Theatre.

In addition to productions of The Last Five Years and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, that are already cast, they are seeking actors of all ages and genders to play roles throughout the season, “specifically actors who are equipped to play multiple roles in the same show, honestly play scenes for young audiences, and are adept with varying comedic styling.”

Rehearsal periods will be 3 weeks and shows will play two – four weekends.

Actor salaries for professionals will range from $250-$300/week.

High school actors are encouraged to audition, though are not guaranteed a stipend or salary.

General auditions will be held Monday, July 29 @ 7pm at the Taylor Theatre on the Kenan Campus in Lockport. Walk-ins are welcome, but actors are highly encouraged to sign up for a time slot by sending an email to Kevin Leary at kevin@kenancenter.org.

Interested actors should prepare two 30-second comedic monologues; one that focuses on situational comedy and another that is a spoof. The second monologue could be a spoof of a dramatic monologue.
