MONDAY, MAY 20th at 1 PM
The 2024 Artie Award nominations will be announced this Monday, May 20, 2024 at 1 p.m., on the Buffalo Toronto Public Media Facebook page by Artie Award founder and WBFO "Theater Talk" host, Anthony Chase, with Curtis Lovell of Ujima Theatre Company.
The Artie Awards began in 1991 and are held each year to celebrate Western New York's Theatre Community and raise funds for the HIV/AIDS & Immunodeficiency Clinic at ECMC. Over the years, the Arties have raised over $500,000 for AIDS-related charities.
This year, the 33rd Annual Artie Awards will be hosted at Shea's 710 Theatre on Monday, June 10, at 8 pm. They will be hosted by Anthony Chase, Curtis Lovell, Charmagne Chi, and Amy Jakiel, with music director Philip Farugia. Save the date!
After the announcement of the nominations, tickets will go on sale. There will be one week of pre-sale available to nominees and to the theater community; theaters will be provided with a password to access pre-sales. After that, ticketing will open to the general public.
This year, the Artie Awards will be a "reserved seating" event and tickets are $25. When all the reserved tickets have sold out, a limited number of "Bar-Only" seats will be made available, allowing patrons access to the bar areas and video monitors, but not to the auditorium, for a reduced price of $20.
