Auditions: O’Connell & Company

O’Connell & Company will hold open auditions for its 2026–2027 season on Monday, May 18 and Tuesday, May 19, (that’s tonight and tomorrow) from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Harlem Road Community Center in Amherst.

The upcoming season features a diverse slate of musical theater and comedy, spanning classic Broadway and contemporary works. Scheduled productions include:

Guys and Dolls (September 11–27), the beloved Frank Loesser musical set in the world of mid-century gamblers and showgirls, blending romance, comedy, and iconic songs. (The roles of Nathan, Sarah, and Adelaide are already cast).

Rent (January 29–February 14), Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer Prize–winning rock musical chronicling a group of young artists navigating life, love, and loss in New York City’s East Village. (The role of Angel is already cast).

Stepping Out (February 19–March 7), Richard Harris’s heartfelt comedy about a group of unlikely dancers who discover confidence and camaraderie in a weekly tap class.

Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding (March 5–21), the long-running interactive comedy in which audiences become guests at a lively and unpredictable Italian-American wedding reception. (The roles of Tony and Tina are already cast).

Gypsy (April 23–May 9), widely regarded as one of the greatest American musicals, featuring the story of the indomitable stage mother Rose and her daughter Louise, with a score by Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim. (The role of Rose is already cast).

Auditioners are asked to prepare 32 bars of two songs, or one song and a one-minute monologue. An accompanist will be provided. Performers should bring a current headshot and résumé.
