Jeanne Cairns' induction into the Plaza of Stars

Monday, September 16, 2019 at 5 p.m.

Curtain Up! week will begin on Monday, September 16, 2019 with the induction of beloved Buffalo actress Jeanne Hebborn Cairns into the Theatre District Association's Plaza of Stars. A true grande dame of Buffalo theater, Jeanne was a member of the first resident company of Studio Arena Theatre, whose many stage achievements including originating the iconic role of Sister Clarissa in Tom Dudzick's homage to Buffalo, Over the Tavern.


The formal presentation will take place at Shea's 710 Main at 5 p.m., with the unveiling of the star to take place immediately at the Plaza at Main and Tupper. This will be followed by a champagne reception at Matinee bar, 698 Main Street.


As the Theatre District Association press release so aptly states, "Jeanne's legacy as a performer, director, and producer is rich to be sure; but her kind, generous, and nurturing connection to others in Buffalo's theater community is great still."


The attendance of all serious Buffalo theater folk and enthusiasts is absolutely required!
